Supporting Moms, Strengthening Families: YANA’s Local Impact

April 22, 2025

Motherhood is beautiful—but it’s also one of the most challenging journeys a woman can take. For many moms in our community, especially those new to Colorado, the experience can feel isolating. That’s where You Are Not Alone - Mom 2 Mom (YANA) steps in.

YANA is a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting moms in the Denver Metro area through connection, community, and compassionate care. Their mission is simple but powerful: to ensure no mom ever feels alone. Whether you're a brand-new parent or years into motherhood, YANA offers a safe space to share, grow, and be seen.

Through our hospital program Strong Mamas, Thriving Babies, moms are grouped with others who have children of similar ages, fostering both friendship and peer support. Moms can request a Support Mom, a more experienced mom who offers encouragement and advice—like a personal cheerleader who “gets it.”

Beyond peer support, YANA also connects families with mental health professionals, parenting resources, and trusted community partners.

Their approach is preventative, not just reactive—meeting moms where they are, before crisis hits. With suicide being the leading cause of death for new mothers and 1 in 4 experiencing postpartum depression, YANA is helping to change those outcomes through early, ongoing support.

And the best part? All moms are welcome, no matter their background, income, or circumstances. Because at the end of the day, YANA is about creating a village—one mom at a time.
